Review Time!

So, I’ve been vaping for 114 days now without a cigarette. (waits for applause to calm.) The first 100 days were done with a 510 and a 901. Both of these are obviously fine devices, and I highly recommend them all the time. They are affordable and will get you to quit smoking. However, it was time for me to step up to something bigger. Enter the Janty Stick.

janty_stick

This beauty looks like a phaser from Star Trek or something. It uses 3.5 volt rechargeable batteries that can be done using USB straight to the unit. You can also use the USB cable as a pass through! The atomizer and cartridge are from the 801 penstyle devices, but they offer adapters for 901 and 510 atomizers as well. Now, on to the review:

Vapor:

This thing puts out plumes of vapor. I’m used to stealth vaping in stores and restaurants, and that idea is out of the question with the Stick. I’ve tried a couple of times only to be left with an embarrassed look on my face as I sit in a cloud of vapor. I’ve only used pg in it so far, so I can’t even imagine the amount of vapor you’d get with vg.

Throat hit:

Being higher voltage, the Janty Stick offers quite the throat hit. It uses an 801 atomizer which runs cooler than the 510, but that extra kick from the better batteries lets you know when you’ve taken a puff from this little guy. My smoker friends sputter and cough after taking a drag on the Stick because they’re expecting it to be a like the 901. It isn’t.

Flavor:

The Janty Stick uses the 801 atomizer, so it has the same flavor of a 801 or 901. I haven’t tasted the harshness of the 510 even though the voltage is so much higher. I like to mix menthol flavors with a Hilton flavor, and I’m getting all of that flavor from my Stick. It really does taste like I’m using my 901, but I’m getting the vapor and throat hit of the 510, top notch in flavor.

Battery Life:

I can go an entire work day on one fully charged battery. After using a 510 as my primary pv for so long, this was absolutely amazing to me. I have to switch out my 510 batteries 4 or 5 times per day. When I initially started using the Stick, I would bring my 510 and PCC to work with me, along with my USB cable, for when my Stick’s battery died. It never did. And, when I use it at home, I can just use the cable as a USB pass-through, incredible.

Other:

The cartridge size of the 801 is huge! I’ve modded my carts with a blue aquarium filter material, and they last nearly all day without topping off. The Janty Stick, because of the higher voltage, will go through more liquid than the other pv’s, but it sucks the cart filler bone dry in the process, nothing is getting wasted. Also, in pictures the Stick looks huge. However, it’s actually just a bit larger than two 510’s sitting side-by-side. Compared to some of the higher voltage devices, the Janty Stick is still very compact. I like how it doesn’t pretend to be a cigarette either. I don’t think Janty even calls it an e-cigarette. It’s just a personal vaporizer. It has a very sleek look to it that I, and most of my friends, really like. It gives you the opportunity to explain your hobby to others, as people will ask you about this device.

Overall:

I can’t say enough good things about the Janty Stick. From the simplistic beauty, to the hard throat hit, the vapor out-put to the smooth flavor, battery life to cartridge capacity, this is an incredible pv. I’m not even using my 510 or 901 any more. I really do love my Janty Stick.

Something I’d like to add about the Janty Stick that I can’t do with other units, simply because 510’s and 901’s are sold by so many companies while the Stick is only sold by Janty, is customer service. Janty USA has been absolutely amazing to work with since I first received my Stick. I couldn’t get it to work when it first came, so I emailed Janty about it. Ethan responded in less than 4 hours with a solution that worked. After about two weeks, my first stick stopped working. I emailed them on a Sunday about it, and Ethan at Janty responded before I woke up on Monday. His advice didn’t fix the problem, so he said they’d send me another unit. I got my new one three days after my first email. Three days! Customer service is obviously a top priority at Janty USA, along with making great PV’s, and they have won me over. If you’ve been using a 510, 901, 401 or any of the Blu and their rip-offs, do yourself a favor and try a Janty Stick. You can thank me in the comments section.

Day 80

80 days without a cigarette. 80 days and I don’t even miss them. I could go on and on about how much better I feel. I could rave about how amazing (and sometimes awful) it is to be able to smell and taste everything. I could brag about how much whiter my teeth are now. I could do an entire blog post about the things I’m able to do now without running out of breath, but I won’t. Today, I’m going to discuss the effect e-cigarettes have on your wallet.

When I started vaping, I wanted my e-cigarettes to look like regular cigarettes. I wanted to hold them and puff on them the same way I did my analogs. I liked to pretend that I was ashing them, and I even took a small puff into my mouth as if I were lighting the real thing. Over time though, I started to like the idea of my e-cigarette being its own entity. I wanted PV’s that looked different, something that would confuse the uninformed. I began to purchase different colored 901’s and 510’s. I even sought out a 510 that has no LED. When I vape that device, it just looks like I’m sucking on a pen, then I blow out smoke and blow peoples’ minds. The Janty box, well that looks like it came right out of Star Trek. I also went crazy on juices: different flavors, VG, PG, nicotine levels, etc. So, in my first month of vaping, I spent a lot of money, and I mean a lot of money.  Not because I had to, but because this is not an addiction, it’s a hobby.

Now it’s day 80. The newness has worn off. The people I’m closest to are now used to my e-cigarettes. I doubt I could surprise them with any new devices, so I’ve stopped buying devices. I’ve settled on my favorite flavors, so I don’t need to spend on unnecessary juices. The last time I spent money on anything related to e-cigarettes was on the 9th of October, nearly a month ago. On that day, I bought 30ml of menthol juice and 30ml of mint juice. I spent a total of $23.46 including shipping. Cigarettes would have cost me over $150 in this same time span. So, now that the initial “wow” factor of e-cigarettes has worn off, I’m saving about $125 per month. I think that’s a pretty compelling reason to switch.

Day 67

I’ve finally started adding pictures and menus in the items for sale pages. This means that you won’t need to e-mail me when purchasing! However, you still can if you have questions, of course. Some people have been asking me some great questions lately. It seems word of e-cigarettes is spreading. It’s fun being on the ground floor of such an innovative product. The scary part to me though, is that the ignorance allows people to take advantage of others. Please, be warned, there are many companies that are created as scams around PV’s. “Smoking Everywhere” is the most well known of these, but “Blu Cig” and others are pretty close to being scams too. If a company has it’s own “brand” of e-cigarette, or if their starter kit is only one complete unit for over $100, it is probably a scam. I guess scam might not be the right word, but rip-off just doesn’t sound harsh enough for what these companies are doing. They’re making promises to you that can’t be fulfilled, charging you more than you should be, and giving e-cigarettes a bad reputation. If you have any questions about a product, feel free to ask me. I know I sell the Joye 510 and have a relationship with a company who sells the Vapor King 510, but I also vape on a DSE901 regularly (even hope to be selling these soon, too, as I really do enjoy it) and I have extensive knowledge of other models as well. Just e-mail me and I will be happy to help.

Happy Vaping!

Day 66

I have finally been able to set up a way to sell you starter kits for my favorite e-cigarette, the Joye 510 (again this is the same as the Vapor King, Titan or Dura C) I have a deal with a supplier which allows me to offer you some pretty great deals. A two battery, two atomizer starter kit with 5 pre-filled cartridges and wall charger for only $50 with free shipping is pretty incredible. Also, I can add a personal charging case for only $25 more and a 30ml bottle of e-juice for an additional $15. That’s $90 if you get everything, with free shipping, and that will last you at least a month. How much are you spending on cigarettes? If you’ve found my blog I’m sure it’s more than $90 per month. Hopefully I’ll get a more professional storefront setup this week, but if you can’t wait, click the links and leave comments in the paypal checkout, or send me an e-mail about color, strength and flavor detail. And coming soon… 901 starter kits! Not quite as good as the 510, but a wonderful e-cigarette to have. Great flavor and auto puffing, I wouldn’t love my 510 as much without my 901…

Day 62

I’ve been getting many hits to the site thanks to friends and links I’ve left on other forums. This is very encouraging as I’ve had so many positive responses to what I am doing here. In fact, I’ve had only one negative response, but he was simply missing the point. I am continuing the action of smoking, but I am not using a tobacco product. The nicotine in the e-liquid is synthetic. I am not burning thousands of chemicals and inhaling them in to my lungs. I now have control over how much nicotine I want to use, rather than trying to control it with how many cigarettes I smoke. I want everybody to understand that this is not a perfect solution. This is not the same as quitting entirely. Watch how I phrase things. I say this is “healthier”, not “healthy.” However, the lack of second hand smoke, the lack of smoke period, and all of the other carcinogens not being present in my PV and e-liquid is reason enough for me to stick with these until I can take the next step. I’ve learned that it’s not the nicotine keeping me smoking; it’s the action of smoking.

For all of you smokers reading this, try this little experiment for me. Inhale the smoke in your mouth without inhaling to your lungs then blow it into a paper towel. Then inhale some smoke in your lungs and blow it into the paper towel next to your previous one. You will see how much garbage is left behind in your lungs. When I do that with my e-cigarette, it is just a little damp both times. No yellowing or anything. My teeth are even getting whiter.

I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t go ahead and convert if they can’t quit smoking. It’s healthier, cleaner, and so much cheaper. Why haven’t you switched yet?

I read these forums for over two weeks before finally purchasing a 901 and 510 starter kit. 61 days ago i received them in the mail. I charged them as much as I could before I finally broke down and started using them. Initially, the 901 blew me away. I was so impressed with it that I hardly used the 510. I actually only used my 510 when the urge to smoke an analog was too great.

After one week with mt PV’s I went on a 10 day vacation to the Twin Cities (I live in Atlanta.) I brought my PCC and all other items from my starter kits plus a 30ml bottle of menthol liquid. Keep in mind that I drive up there! That’s 19 hours!

This is when the PCC became such an obvious necessity to me. It made sense from the beginning, but this trip really proved its worth. While a 510 battery doesn’t last very long, the PCC keeps it viable for days at a time. After only a few days of this trip, I realized that, while I enjoy my 901, the 510 is going to get me to quit smoking for good.

Since returning from that trip, I’ve continued my love of the 510. The PCC gets me through an entire work day with no problem. However, I’ve discovered a new way to use my 901. I use it for 0 nic or very low nic flavors. That gives me the ability to vape and get that feeling of “smoking” nearly all day without the fear of overdoing the nicotine. Now I can try all kinds of flavors and vape all day while still getting that same “feel” of an analog. And then, when I “need” a cigarette, i just hit my 510 for a minute.

My Blazer, my clothes, my skin and my breath no longer smell like smoke. You won’t find any ashes that escaped the ashtray around my house or in my vehicle. There are no longer cigarette butts littering my yard and driveway. I can now play tennis with my nephews and my wife without getting winded. And, my wife enjoys kissing me again. That’s reason enough to never go back. Maybe one day I’ll quit vaping, too. But in the mean time, this is the perfect alternative to smoking.

Day 61

So, I usually watch the Falcons games at my local Applebee’s. Last week the bartender, Angel, saw my e-cigs and recognized what they were. I told her that every time I go to the bathroom, it’s like a smoke break for me. She laughed and said she wished she could do that too. When I explained that I was worried about vaping at the bar because other customers might take offense or want to smoke, she said,”They can suck it!” Well, tonight, while the Falcons were taking care of the Bears, I just started using my 510 at the bar. None of the other customers said anything at all. People would actually watch me inhale and exhale vapor and not complain, ask questions, even seem curious. It was rather mind boggling to me, but whatever, I know I have a bartender who will let me vape. I, also, know that I vape in an area where no one seems to notice what I’m doing. The company “Smoke Everywhere” might be a bunch of scammers, but they sure got their name right…amazing. I really can vape whenever and where ever I want. Just another perk to leaving those filthy cigarettes behind! Are you ready to join me yet?

Day 60

Wow, 60 days without a cigarette! I never thought these E-Cigarettes could really work this well. I figured it would be like every other “to good to be true” replacement. I feel better than I have in 16 years, and I don’t even miss cigarettes. Actually, I find cigarettes rather disgusting, now. I hope that if you are here looking for information, wondering if this product is “the real deal,” you will believe me, watch the video link on how to use the Vapor King 510, and take the plunge joining me in quitting smoking and starting vaping…

Day 59

It’s been almost two months since I smoked my last cigarette. My skin, clothes and Blazer no longer smell like smoke. There are no more cigarette butts in my yard and no more piles of ash all over everything. I’m working on creating a page of “What to buy” to go beside the where to buy for you guys. I want to do it right, though. I want to add pictures and volumes and everything else to make sure you get exactly what you need. I’m also going to link some “how to” videos soon. So, stay tuned!

Day 57

I’ve now been vaping for 57 days. That comes to about 1730 cigarettes I have avoided with my PV’s. I can’t believe how great this is. I got some Dr. Pepper flavored liquid in yesterday, added some VG to sweeten it, and have been puffing on that all day. I also cut the nicotine level down on my last order. So, I’m now at 16mg for my regular “menthol + mint” mix, and the Dr. Pepper is only 6mg.  Can you imagine how disgusting a Dr. Pepper flavored cigarette would be? Well, it’d probably just taste like smoke…
